Our shastras say that if a saint or an evolved being crosses path with another life for even a trifle moment then this indeed is the result of almighty’s choicest blessings for that person. Association with a saint indeed helps elevate human life to an exalted plane because such beings can bring about spiritual growth and further, if the aims of a life are clearly laid out in a determined manner, then such company can even lead to union with the Godhead. Anantshri Swami Karpaatri Ji Maharaj was a great saint, teacher, devotee and a legend who descended to the mortal world in the twentieth century. From among the people who were blessed to be acquainted with him, mostly everyone just got to know his outer, social self because it indeed was difficult to become aware of and experience his inherent saintly qualities. Yet, even if people were blessed with a moment with him it indeed did immense good to them. I also feel specially chosen by the almighty that I could spend some time of my life with a loving being like him. It was in these moments that I go the opportunity to experience his compassion, love, sainthood and camaraderie. From this invaluable time that I spent with him, I present here some of the memories and experiences within which it shall be easy for the readers to identify his saintly thought processes, his daily routine and unique ways in which he lived his life. Moreover this shall be a source of inspiration for the devotees and the yogis.

A CONFLUENCE OF THE TRIAD OF DEEDS, DEVOTION AND KNOWLEDGE

Maharaj ji’s life was a confluence of the triad of deeds, devotion and knowledge. Although he was a gyanyogi that is he wished to follow the path of knowledge to salvation yet when one saw him performing his deeds it was evident that he was a karmayogi as well, that is someone who seeks salvation through his deeds. In the same manner he was also a passionate devotee and one cannot gauge the depth of his devotion by looking at an average devotee.
